Softball Recap: Mars Hill Bible Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mars Hill Bible won the last time they faced Rogers and things went their way on Monday too. The Mars Hill Bible Panthers walked away with a 7-3 win over the Rogers Pirates. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 17-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Kelsie McDaniel made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Mars Hill Bible got a big performance out of Briley Durham, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Durham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Wright, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mars Hill Bible kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Mars Hill Bible's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. As for Rogers, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Mars Hill Bible Panthers challenge Phil Campbell Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mars Hill Bible's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Phil Campbell's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rogers, they will head out to face off against West Limestone at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
