Preview: Sperry Pirates vs. Berryhill Chiefs
The Sperry Pirates will be playing at home against the Berryhill Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After soaring to a 27-point victory in their last game, Sperry came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bristow by a score of 47-45. It was the first time this season that Sperry let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Berryhill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 62-35 loss at the hands of Mannford. Berryhill has struggled against Mannford recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Sperry's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Berryhill, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10.
Sperry was able to grind out a solid win over Berryhill when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 51-39. Does Sperry have another victory up their sleeve, or will Berryhill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
