Football Recap: Eau Gallie Beats Bishop Moore for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Eau Gallie extended their postseason success on Friday against Bishop Moore. They skirted past the Bishop Moore Hornets 26-24. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Commodores also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Tay Welch and Emmanuel Small. Welch rushed for 157 yards while Small rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown. Those 157 rushing yards gave Welch a new career-high.

Eau Gallie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Bishop Moore lost, don't look at Bjorn Jurgensen. Despite the final result, he rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 156 yards and one touchdown.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Eau Gallie, bringing their record for this year to 12-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for Bishop Moore, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Eau Gallie has already played their next match, a 40-0 loss against Northwestern on the 6th. Bishop Moore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
