Basketball Recap: Burns Comes Up Short

Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Lander Valley Tigers 63-17. The Broncs lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 40-36 score last time.

Josie Barrett was Burns' leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lander Valley, they moved to 4-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Burns didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-21 loss against Lovell on the 21st. As for Lander Valley, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cody at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
