While Lynchburg-Clay didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past the Eastern Warriors 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Noel Barnhill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lynchburg-Clay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caitlyn Collins, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Lynchburg-Clay's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Eastern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Lynchburg-Clay wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Fairfield on the 9th. As for Eastern, they have also already played their next match, a 13-7 victory against Peebles on the 9th.
