Soccer Recap: Sweeny Comes Up Short

Sweeny managed to slip by Columbia the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Sweeny Bulldogs lost 6-2 to the Columbia Roughnecks on Saturday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Bulldogs were already down 4-1.

The loss snapped Sweeny's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-6-1 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Columbia, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-5-1.

Sweeny does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Columbia will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hallettsville at 6:00 p.m. on March 20th.
