Baseball Game Preview: Ontario Christian Knights vs. Linfield Christian Lions

The Ontario Christian Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Linfield Christian Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ontario Christian is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Ontario Christian came up short against Orange Vista and fell 8-3.

Ontario Christian got a good showing from Christopher Choi, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Choi has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ontario Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Abifadel, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Linfield Christian owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Mary Star of the Sea. Considering the Lions have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Linfield Christian pushed their record up to 8-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Ontario Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Ontario Christian couldn't quite finish off Linfield Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can Ontario Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
