Softball Recap: Bruton Takes a Loss

Bruton fell victim to New Kent and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 20-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-1 back in March.

Bruton's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for New Kent, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bruton will challenge Tabb at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for New Kent, they will square off against Grafton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Clippers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
