Sultana had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Apple Valley Sun Devils with a sharp 12-6 victory. Considering the Sultans have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

LJ Borrego made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other pitching news, Nico Torres looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Brody Sappington was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Alex Gamez also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Sultana's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Apple Valley, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

Sultana didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-6 win against Burroughs on the 1st. As for Apple Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 20-8 defeat against Oak Hills on the 1st.
