Softball Recap: Overhills Jaguars vs. Triton Hawks
Overhills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Triton Hawks, falling 19-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Tuesday.
Julianna Mitchell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
Overhills' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Triton, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Looking ahead, Overhills will head out to challenge Terry Sanford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Overhills has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Triton, they will host Lee County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Triton's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
