Cienega posted their closest win since May 2, 2024 on Monday. They came out on top against the Sunnyside Blue Devils by a score of 6-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was payback for the Bobcats, who suffered an 8-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Isabel Mendoza, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sophia Butt was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-3. As for Sunnyside, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Coming up, Cienega is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Mica Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cienega's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Mica Mountain's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sunnyside, they will host Salpointe Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on March 17th.
