Basketball Recap: Tri-West Hendricks Bruins vs. McCutcheon Mavericks

Tri-West Hendricks lost a close one when they played last Tuesday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 65-30 defeat at the hands of the McCutcheon Mavericks. The game marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-West Hendricks lost, don't look at Lauren Bear. Despite the final result, she had 17 points plus two steals.

McCutcheon was led to victory by Lillie Graves and Braelyn Williams. Graves went 10 for 20 en route to 22 points plus five assists and three steals, while Williams posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and two steals. Graves has been hot , having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keara Lipscomb-Allen, who earned nine points plus three steals.

As for McCutcheon, they will challenge Zionsville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. McCutcheon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Zionsville likes a good challenge.
