Baseball Recap: Valmeyer Comes Up Short

Valmeyer and Gibault Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Valmeyer had to settle for second. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Pirates' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Valmeyer saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kye Holbrook, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Valmeyer's defeat dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Gibault Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 10-18.

As of now, neither Valmeyer nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
