Basketball Game Preview: Lenox Tigers vs. Wayne Falcons

The Lenox Tigers will square off against the Wayne Falcons on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Lenox didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Southwest Valley, but they still walked away with a 46-42 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Southwest Valley are ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wayne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They breezed past the Maroons to the tune of 61-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Falcons have posted since December 10, 2024.

Lenox is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points over those games. As for Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

Lenox came up short against Wayne when the teams last played back in January, falling 41-36. Can Lenox avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
