Basketball Recap: Augusta Comes Up Short

Augusta lost against Barton back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Augusta Red Devils lost 70-50 to the Barton Bears. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Bears are ranked 117th).

Augusta has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Barton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Augusta will head out to challenge Guy-Perkins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Augusta is facing Guy-Perkins at the right time seeing as Guy-Perkins is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Barton, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hazen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
