Gatlinburg-Pittman piles up the points against Union County

Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders vs. Union County Patriots

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Union County 70-0 at home. The win was nothing new for Gatlinburg-Pittman as they're now sitting on eight straight.

It was another big night for Tegan Avera, who rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Hammonds, who threw for 170 yards and four touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's victory was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-9 Fulton and 3-8 Union County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.5% over those games). As for Union County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Gatlinburg-Pittman will look to defend their home field on Friday against Roane County at 7:00 p.m. Roane County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Union County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
