Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Gramercy Christian

If Coastal Brigade wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Gramercy Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Diego De Hoyos. The Gramercy Christian Warriors strolled past Coastal Brigade with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 57-42 thanks in part to De Hoyos, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 21 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Luke Bowling was another key player, putting up 11 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Coastal Brigade lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Luke Bledsoe, who posted 13 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Dustin Powell, who earned seven points.

Gramercy Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Coastal Brigade, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Gramercy Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 45-35 win against Trinity Christian on the 31st. As for Coastal Brigade, they will take on Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
