It was a good run, but Kearney unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 54-40 bruising from the Summit Christian Academy Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Eagles are ranked 18th).

It was another big night for Max Rieger, who went 7 for 16 en route to 23 points in addition to six boards and three steals for Summit Christian Academy. That's the most rebounds Rieger has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mike Thomas III, who posted ten points along with eight boards and six blocks.

Kearney's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Summit Christian Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Kearney has already played their next contest (against Fort Osage), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Summit Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 71-39 victory against Mid-Buchanan on the 21st.
