Sabino and Pusch Ridge Christian Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Sabino Sabercats are taking a road trip to challenge the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Sabino will be strutting in after a win while Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, Sabino didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Alchesay, but they still walked away with a 49-44 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sabercats.

Sabino's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Melia Graham, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 13 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Marie Gomez-Munoz, who posted eight points along with five assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-52 to San Carlos.

Sabino will have to keep a close watch on Hannah Johnson and Nicole NJoroge, a pair of players who had a big impact on Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's prior game. Johnson almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards, while NJoroge earned 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. NJoroge is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Sanburn, who scored seven points and seven rebounds.

Sabino pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.

Sabino came up short against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 44-38. Can Sabino avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
