After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cookeville, York Institute was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 61-49 victory over the Monterey Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-48 back in January.

Despite the loss, Monterey still got an impressive performance from Garrett Wessels, who went 7-for-17 on his way to 23 points. Another player making a difference was Tanner Brown, who posted 12 points.

York Institute picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-17. As for Monterey, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York Institute will face off against Smith County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monterey, they will square off against Red Boiling Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
