Matthew Schilling posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
