Baseball Recap: Mount Sinai Comes Up Short

Mount Sinai fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Sayville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Flashes by a score of 2-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Mustangs' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Mount Sinai saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ralph Passantino, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Mount Sinai's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Sayville, their record now sits at 9-6.

Looking ahead, Mount Sinai will take on Islip at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sayville, they will face off against Bay Shore at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
