Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Demons vs. Trinity Collegiate Titans
The Lugoff-Elgin Demons pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity Collegiate. Lugoff-Elgin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lugoff-Elgin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nigel Chivers, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Chivers has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Mumford, who scored 14 points.
Lugoff-Elgin has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Trinity Collegiate, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lugoff-Elgin will challenge Westwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Trinity Collegiate, they will head out on the road to challenge First Baptist School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (First Baptist School is ranked 123rd, while Trinity Collegiate is ranked 107th).
