Softball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport lost to Holmes back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 11-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Holmes, they moved to 7-11 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newport will challenge Williamstown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holmes, they will take on Newport Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thoroughbreds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
