Baseball Game Preview: Wesley Chapel Wildcats vs. Northside Christian Mustangs

The Wesley Chapel Wildcats will face off against the Northside Christian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wesley Chapel will be strutting in after a win while Northside Christian will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Wesley Chapel beat Sickles 7-4.

JoJo Guevara made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit over five innings pitched. Guevara was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Jacob Christensen and Zorre Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Christensen scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Wright scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Wright has posted since back in February of 2024. Nolan Hartley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

Meanwhile, Northside Christian had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Verot.

Northside Christian also got a good showing from Auston Anderson, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Northside Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yordan Rosendo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
