Preview: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Neuqua Valley Wildcats
The Plainfield East Bengals will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Neuqua Valley Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. The pair are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Plainfield East has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 25 points or more this season. They blew past Joliet Central 85-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Lexi Sepulveda, who scored 26 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Plainfield East's points. Dimora Shelton was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Even though Neuqua Valley has not done well against Naperville North recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Neuqua Valley put the hurt on Naperville North with a sharp 53-33 win.
Plainfield East is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Neuqua Valley, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Plainfield East came out on top in a nail-biter against Neuqua Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, sneaking past 50-48. Will Plainfield East repeat their success, or does Neuqua Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
