Softball Recap: Stroudsburg Mountaineers vs. Pocono Mountain East Cardinals
Stroudsburg fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Pocono Mountain East on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 6-5. The Mountaineers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 17-9.
Jordan Cook spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on 14 hits.
On the hitting side, Elena Trotter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Elizabeth Molinaro was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Stroudsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Pocono Mountain East, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
