Recap: Summit Christian Academy Eagles vs. Chelsea Dragons
It was a good run, but the Summit Christian Academy Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Chelsea by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Summit Christian Academy has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Summit Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Trinity Garnatz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Garnatz hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Katey Stemple, who scored 13 points.
Summit Christian Academy's defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-1. As for Chelsea, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Summit Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against Regent Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Regent Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Summit Christian Academy is ranked 120th). As for Chelsea, Chelsea and Caney Valley will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
