Softball Recap: Fellowship Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Azle Christian last Tuesday, Fellowship Academy came back down to earth. The Mustangs lost 10-3 to the Weatherford Christian Lions on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 last Thursday.

Khylee Webber put in work no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Taitym Rankin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Fellowship Academy dropped their record down to 4-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Weatherford Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fellowship Academy will square off against Faustina Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weatherford Christian, they will face off against Nazarene Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
