Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wheeler). Everything went their way against the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs on Wednesday as the Wheeler Lions made off with a 69-44 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Lyman Memorial still got an impressive performance from Kevin Botticello, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. Botticello's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Theo Taylor was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Wheeler's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Lyman Memorial, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wheeler Lions challenge the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lyman Memorial, they will venture away from home to challenge Ledyard at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
