Softball Preview: Oxford Wolverines vs. Kennedy Eagles
Oxford is 3-0 against Kennedy since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Oxford Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Kennedy Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Oxford knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Kennedy likes a good challenge.
The matchup between Oxford and Pomperaug on Friday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. Oxford walked away with a 15-11 victory over Pomperaug. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
Meanwhile, Kennedy fell victim to St. Paul Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. Their rough 22-0 defeat to the Falcons might stick with them for a while. Kennedy has not had much luck with St. Paul Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Oxford's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Kennedy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
