Basketball Game Preview: Deuel Cardinals vs. Dakota Valley Panthers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Deuel Cardinals duke it out with the Dakota Valley Panthers at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday... Deuel will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Deuel beat Milbank 51-38. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dakota Valley has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against Sioux Falls Christian on Thursday, falling 88-66. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Chargers since January 30, 2020.

Deuel's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Dakota Valley, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.
