Gilbert dropped down to 5-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hamilton Huskies. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 56-51 to the Huskies when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Gilbert lost, don't look at Malachi Jones. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 30 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock White, who posted eight points.

As for Hamilton, they moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

It was another big night for MJ Cole, who dropped a double-double with 34 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Nate Tainsky, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 12 points.

Gilbert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-51 victory against Sunnyside on the 9th. As for Hamilton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 61-35 win against Red Mountain on the 9th.
