Softball Preview: Post Falls Trojans vs. Timberlake Tigers
The Post Falls Trojans will challenge the Timberlake Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Post Falls is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Post Falls and Lakeland meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Trojans took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks.
Rylan Morrison put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Morrison was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, McKenna Zimmerman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Timberlake played against Bonners Ferry on Friday and won via forfeit.
Timberlake's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Post Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
