For Putnam's part, Nick Devlin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Devlin is becoming a predictor of the Clippers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-15 when he doesn't). Byron Vazquez was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
