Mt. Pleasant is a perfect 6-0 against Carman-Ainsworth since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Oilers will take on the Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Mt. Pleasant and seven for Carman-Ainsworth.

Monday just wasn't the day for Mt. Pleasant's offense. They fell 4-0 to Bay City Western on Monday.

Carman-Ainsworth couldn't beat Bentley on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Cavaliers came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 16-7.

Joe Fletcher was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Danny Peters also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Carman-Ainsworth's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Mt. Pleasant, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Mt. Pleasant took their victory against Carman-Ainsworth in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Oilers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
