Oviedo posted their closest win since April 30, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Lake Howell Silverhawks 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Silverhawks back in February, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

Henry Thomas looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Christian Lynch was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Sebastian Galeano also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Oviedo and bumps their season record up to 8-15. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Lake Howell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oviedo will welcome Dr. Phillips at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Howell, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Olympia at 6:00 p.m. The Silverhawks are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
