Basketball Recap: Uplift Mighty Prep Lions vs. Newman International Academy Warriors
Uplift Mighty Prep couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 82-28 loss at the hands of the Newman International Academy Warriors. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Jeremiah Daniels had a dynamite game for Newman International Academy, going 11 for 16 en route to 25 points plus six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Styles, who scored eight points in addition to 13 rebounds and five steals.
The win got Newman International Academy back to even at 1-1.
Uplift Mighty Prep will square off against Uplift Ascend Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Newman International Academy has already played their next matchup, a 74-35 victory against Summit International Prep on the 8th.
