Basketball Recap: Mcclave Piles Up the Points Against Burlington

McClave waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Burlington Cougars 59-31. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 27 points or more this season.

Tuff Kelley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and ten blocks. That's the most blocks he has posted since back in January of 2024. Mason Barr was another key player, going 5-for-8 to rack up 14 points and four steals.

McClave pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. As for Burlington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Burlington, they will be taking part in a tournament against Byers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Byers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Burlington surely won't give up without a fight.
