Recap: Dunbar Tigers vs. Golden Gate Titans
The Dunbar Tigers struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Golden Gate Titans had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Dunbar took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Golden Gate. Dunbar has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Dunbar lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hezekiah Jones, who scored 12 points. David Church was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Golden Gate found their leader in underclassman Sam Powell, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Powell has scored at least a third of Golden Gate's points. Another player making a difference was Jarrett Wilson, who scored ten points.
Dunbar has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Golden Gate, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Dunbar will head out on the road to take on Fort Myers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Myers presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dunbar in Florida (Fort Myers is ranked 208th, while Dunbar is ranked 619th). As for Golden Gate, they will be playing at home against Immokalee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Immokalee will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
