Basketball Preview: Monument Valley Mustangs vs. Round Valley Elks
The Monument Valley Mustangs will face off against the Round Valley Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Defeat or not, Monument Valley got some senior leadership from Ralph Gray III and Latrell Begay. Gray III almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Begay went 7 of 16 on his way to 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gray III has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Tsosie, who posted ten points.
Even though they lost, Monument Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Round Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Morenci on Monday and fell 54-51. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Wildcats are ranked 88th).
Round Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Monument Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
