Basketball Recap: Baxter Springs Comes Up Short

Baxter Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 58-21 defeat at the hands of the Columbus Titans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Titans this season, with their most recent loss being a 42-22 defeat back in January.

Katy Mooney was her usual excellent self, putting up 20 points for Columbus. That makes it five consecutive games in which Mooney has scored at least a third of Columbus' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylie Johnson, who posted 11 points.

Baxter Springs' record now sits at 0-12. As for Columbus, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Baxter Springs will head out on the road to challenge Girard on Friday. As for Columbus, they will face off against Galena on Friday.
