Baseball Recap: Hingham Takes a Loss

Hingham extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 6-5. They lost 12-2 to the Hanover Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Harbormen have suffered against the Hawks since April 29, 2016.

Hingham saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Joseph, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Hanover, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. That looming 12-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

On Hanover's side, Will Davidson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Davidson was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Hanover let Cole Hendrickson and Sam Light run wild. Hendrickson went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Light went 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyler DeRice, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hingham will take on Duxbury at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hanover, they will head out to take on Scituate at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
