Canyon View and Verrado are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Jaguars will face off against the Vipers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Canyon View sitting on ten straight victories and Verrado on eight.
Last Friday, Canyon View made easy work of North Canyon and carried off a 16-1 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.
Collin Padget looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brock Berlan, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Ricardo Yuriar was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Canyon View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Verrado got the win against Desert Edge on Monday by a conclusive 11-2. The Vipers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the seventh match they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Nolan Raissle and Lucas Spitzock were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Raissle tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Spitzock pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Raissle has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Raissle scored two runs while going 1-for-1, while Spitzock scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Eli Bebleh was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Gutierrez, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Canyon View pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Verrado, their record is now 14-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Canyon View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Verrado struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Canyon View skirted past Verrado 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vipers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
