Preview: Boone Braves vs. Master's Academy Eagles
The Boone Braves will head out on the road to challenge the Master's Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boone is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Last Monday, Boone earned a 52-39 win over Downey Christian. Given Boone's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Downey Christian is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Boone's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danika Ballard, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Ballard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenna Murphy, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Master's Academy ended up a good deal behind Deltona on Tuesday and lost 64-47.
Boone pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Master's Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Boone beat Master's Academy 46-34 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does Boone have another victory up their sleeve, or will Master's Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
