Baseball Recap: Spring Valley Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Spring Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of Spartanburg by a score of 6-5 on Monday. Spring Valley just can't catch a break and has now endured six defeats in a row.

Jacob Smoak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Spring Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Spartanburg, their win bumped their record up to 18-9.

While Spring Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Tuesday.
