Baseball Recap: East Carteret's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

East Carteret put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the North Pitt Panthers 11-1. Considering the Mariners have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tanner Wade was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jonathan Piner was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Chase Roberson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

East Carteret pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for North Pitt, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, East Carteret is taking a road trip to square off against North Lenoir at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Carteret's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so North Lenoir's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Pitt, they will square off against Greene Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Greene Central their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
