Football Game Preview: Durant Cougars vs. George Jenkins Eagles

The Durant Cougars will head out on the road to take on the George Jenkins Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Durant's defense has only allowed 10.5 points per game this season, so George Jenkins' offense will have their work cut out for them.

Durant is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Bloomingdale just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 12-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulls.

Meanwhile, George Jenkins entered their tilt with McKeel Academy on Thursday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They really took it to the Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-13 victory. With the Eagles ahead 20-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

A big part of George Jenkins' win came down to the chemistry between Daphne Goff and her top target Morgan Walsh. Goff threw for 250 yards and three TDs while Walsh picked up 200 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those 200 receiving yards gave Walsh a new career-high.

George Jenkins didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Walsh led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

George Jenkins pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Durant, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
