Basketball Recap: Josiah Masters' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mount Calvary Christian over High Point Baptist Academy

Mount Calvary Christian lost against High Point Baptist Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mount Calvary Christian Chargers took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the High Point Baptist Academy Eagles. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mount Calvary Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Masters, who went 8-for-15 en route to 19 points and six boards. Masters is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Hughes, who posted nine points.

Among those leading the charge was Carlos Torres, who had seven points.

Mount Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for High Point Baptist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Coming up, Mount Calvary Christian will take on Coventry Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th. As for High Point Baptist Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-51 defeat against Linville Hill on the 13th.
