Baseball Recap: Collins Victorious

Collins owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against the Fern Creek Tigers by a score of 5-0. The Titans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Jacob Stover tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Alston Whitworth was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Collins now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fern Creek, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collins will host Ballard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fern Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bullitt East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
